Amber was one of the first brides to book her 2012 wedding with me. So, I was pretty excited to finally meet her and her fiancée Terence during my Okotoks mini sessions. We shot in the beautiful morning light.

This is a pretty cool couple. They have a huge wedding planned in Stavely with all of their friends and family expected. Small town shindigs are always the best! It will be nearly a year before you get to see their wedding photos – but enjoy a snapshot of their engagement photographs!

I met Jon and Shanon through my husband. They have the cutest little girls. Miss Haylee is now an older sister when baby Hanna arrived five months ago. The two of them just looked like little dolls sitting in the grass with the sun beaming down. I’m looking forward to diving into the rest of their photos!

With that in mind, Jennifer was wonderful enough to model for me. She is in Grade 12 in Okotoks and is ready to take on the acting world after finishing school!

Pam Bedwell and I have known each other since we were little. Our families were friends and we were in the same 4-H club together (again, sorry Ben for another 4-H post). I’m not sure when the last time I’ve visited with her was, although I’m assuming it was sometime when we were teenagers. Today, she is wife and mother to a gorgeous little family. Her little girls have just the brightest personalities and it was so much fun to follow them around and photograph them.

I’ve known Colette for I’m not sure how many years. Our parents were in the bull business together at one stage and now I am lucky enough to see her family once a year at my uncle’s annual bull sale in Lloydminster. Thanks to the magic of Facebook, I get to catch up and visit with Colette year round online. I was so happy when she contacted me to do a Lloydminster mini session with her boyfriend Gary and his daughters. The little girls were just the sweetest and it was wonderful to get to know Gary better and visit with Colette.

Noelle and I met our first day of grade 10.  We were the best of friends. Every year we did all the cattle shows together and I considered Noelle a second sister.Fast forward many years. She moved home from Ontario and I moved home Australia. It feels like we never skipped a beat. Noelle is still gorgeous…..

I first photographed Kim and her daughter Emily a couple of years a ago. It was winter and we were in the middle of a cold spell. I remember spending only a few minutes outside then moving indoors for the session. This year was an entirely different story. It was sunny, warm, and we were shooting in the beautiful evening sun.

I’ve known Kim for many years. Our brothers were good friends growing up and again (Ben forgive me for two 4-H posts in a row), but Kim and I used to show cattle against each other in 4-H. It was so great to see the two of them again. I’m wishing Em all the best in hockey school this year!

Sue and I grew up in the cattle industry together. My husband constantly makes fun of me when I talk about an old friend. He asks if I met them in 4-H or showing cattle. Many times….I did. Sue was a little younger than me and was cute as a button. Still is. Just now, she has an equally sweet family with a husband and two little people.

Dana, Doug, their daughter Katie and dog Willie are just the neatest family. Dana knows my mom from teaching and that’s how I ended up meeting this cute foursome. Katie just entered kindergarten this year and was full of smiles during our session. I actually had to give Willie the dog his own set of photos because he was just THAT COOL.

I was lucky enough to have Sarah Thorpe give me a hand with a few of my Lloydminster sessions. Photography is something she is interested in and I was so happy to have her shadow me with a few of my families. I’ve looked at some of her photos and I’m sure I will have some competition in a few years when she graduates high school.  In the meantime, she is such an awesome teenager and I wish I had the same focus in life at her age as she does.
