Brad and Chantel

The first words out of my mouth when I met Chantel were “OMG – you are so cute!” Maybe not the most professional way to meet a couple moments before a maternity session….but it’s so true. Chantel and Brad are expecting their first baby in a couple of weeks and contacted me through their friend Vicki, whom I photographed a couple of years ago.

Chantel and Brad met through a mutual friend several years ago and now make Calgary home. It was so awesome to spend time with both of them. They make just the cutest couple and Chantel is one of those mom-to-be’s that embrace pregnancy and look unbelievable….even at nearly 9 months!

I have to add that Brad just doted on her and you can just tell he’s going to be the most incredible dad. They don’t know what the sex is….but my guess is a boy.

Akeda

Akeda is reaching for the top – from a young age. She is a contestant in next month’s Miss Teen Canada Pageant, held in Toronto. Akeda came from Vauxhall to have some portfolio photos taken for the pageant. She is such a beautiful young lady and I’m pretty sure there is no other teen out there who could place higher than her!

Danielle Smith – Leader of the Official Opposition

The writ was dropped March 26th – with an April 23rd election date called. From there it was 28 days of campaigning for the party leaders and their candidates. Danielle Smith, Leader of the Wildrose Party packed up her bus, staff and got her war room rolling.

I was honoured to be asked to be the Tour Photographer for Danielle. I spent two weekends with her and the amazing staff on the bus traveling around Southern Alberta. There were several staff, media and two dogs on board at all times. It was an incredible experience to see first-hand what it’s like to run for premier.

I’m proud to say that although the Wildrose didn’t win the election, they did become the opposition party. They have some incredible new MLAs that are going to represent Albertans well. Danielle is now my new MLA for Highwood and I’m excited to have her represent us in Edmonton.

Awesome idea for bridesmaid gifts

Thanks to one of my 2011 brides, Jessica Comstock – I’ve now signed up for a couple of beauty box subscription services. I hadn’t heard of them until she tweeted about her Luxebox arriving in the mail. I am sample junkie and love trying new things. The Allan ladies

I first met Natasha Harvey (nee Allan) when she babysat my daughter Jane. I was knee-deep in wedding photography last summer and was so grateful to have found the most wonderful person to take care of Jane on days that I was editing. Natasha is now a mom herself.

I met Natasha’s mom Laurie at an evening at Wade Rozander’s home. Laurie and her husband Scott live just down the road.

I met Chantal, Laurie’s other daughter the day of our shoot. She has the most beautiful baby girl, little Graycee Mae.

Evening of Indulgence

This was the second time I participated in the Generations Chiropractic Evening of Indulgence trade show. I showcased Loree Photography at the Calgary event a few years ago. Last year I had to back out of the High River night because I had a little two-week old baby and had my hands were full.

This year….I was excited to play an even bigger role! I had my studio set up and offered photos to every lady that attended. It was a success and I’m proud to show you just a taste of what I photographed.

Megan

I met Megan several years ago when I joined the Agriculture Media Committee with the Calgary Stampede. Megan was a member and is now our chair. She’s a focused, high-achieving, fun and talented woman. I’m proud to her call my friend.

We did this shoot at a dance studio where she teaches ballet. It was also her dog Daisy’s 4th birthday. We celebrated with doggy cupcakes and belly rubs.

I met Carla and Ross through my husband several years ago. They have four of the most well-behaved and polite little boys that I have ever met. They were an absolute dream to work with. The family ranches west of Nanton in the most beautiful area of our country. I loved their home and I loved photographing all six of them.

I was so excited when I found out Adam and Tenille were engaged. Adam is my cousin and Tenille has been a part of my extended family as Adam’s girlfriend for five years. They are such a fantastic couple together and just awesome people separately. When they suggested we use Downtown Calgary as the backdrop for their engagement session, I was thrilled. There is so much to see and do there on a Saturday afternoon. I hope you enjoy their images as much as I enjoyed taking them (and spending time with two of my favourite people).
