I met Chelsea and Blake (and Cohen) earlier this year over coffee and loved them immediately. They are this fun and family oriented couple and I can’t wait for their Canmore wedding next year. We had the engagement photos near Lloydminster and choose a great, rustic location. The evening ended perfectly….with a rainbow!
I’ve know the Laycock Family since I was in junior high. I spend lots of time with their youngest daughter Ange when we were in school. Many years have passed since, so it was so great to catch up with the entire extended family last night to take photos for Diane and Duane’s 40th wedding anniversary. They are still the same fun and close family that I met over two-decades ago and they now have several grandkids that are just as much fun as their parents and grandma and grandpa!
Chelsea and Dustin have the sweetest bond. They look at each other and just seem to get lost in their own little world.
Their wedding was held on a HOT day in Fish Creek Park in Calgary. Kids milled about and guests found shady patches to stand under. It was perfect. Chelsea’s Grampie walked her down the aisle. She was gorgeous. Enjoy this taste of their beautiful July wedding.
Alexandra and Will’s wedding was one I’ve been looking forward to all year. It took place at the amazing Silvertip Resort in Canmore on what was one of the hottest days we’ve had so far this summer.
Alex and Kate met while both on an overseas trip. Will was on holidays from Australia and Alex, vacationing from Canada – met, talked all night…and the rest is history. Will immigrated to Canada two years ago and they now make their home in Calgary. Countless family and friends flew into Canada from Australia for the wedding. The timing was perfect. They were also able to take in the world-famous Calgary Stampede at the same time. Sitting at the reception was a little like sitting in a meeting of the UN. There were so many accents and well-traveled guests. Alexandra’s father is from Germany, so his family provided the European flavour to the day….including sabering a champagne bottle after the ceremony.
Alex and Will had the most amazing 1952 Bentley Mk VI as their transportation. Highland Executive Chauffeur of Canmore provided this glamorous touch.
The speeches were funny, touching and witty. The wine flowed, the meal was delicious….and the dancing….was entertaining! Kate Melvina and her band provided the soulful sound that kept the guests on the dance floor!
When I left, the party was going strong. No doubt it went well into the evening!
I first met Michelle a couple of years ago while photographing the Foothills Roller Derby team. She has had some awesome ideas for me to shoot and it’s been a blast getting to know her. Fast forward to a few days ago, I had the chance to meet her family of seven. These five kids are full of life and laughter and everything in between.
The Ransom Family was one of the first families that I got to know when I met my husband. They are just the greatest group of people.
The best way to describe Amanda and Chris is that they are a couple that you instantly hope want to be your friends. The moment you meet them, you just want to be around them. They are warm, welcoming, funny (really funny) and just a couple that makes you smile. They are also parents to little Holt (who was sleeping at his grandparent’s house during the session). Amanda and Chris decided to have their engagement session at her family’s ranch (that’s now been sold) near Springbank. It’s a piece of oasis as Calgary builds up around it. There was also a bear sighting earlier that day, but thankfully it didn’t make an appearance during the shoot!
I can’t wait for their November wedding in Canmore. They will be surrounded by family and friends and a whole herd of cattle friends that make up their community!
UFA is one of my very favourite corporate clients. The service, products and community support that they have provided Alberta and into Saskatchewan and B.C. have stood strong for 100 years. I’m proud to be the photographer for the for Ranch Horse Lifestyle Guide. I took a few snapshots of the Guide to showcase the work I did for them last month when we visited several ranches across Southern Alberta to capture the spirit of the equine and ranching industry. Pick up your copy of the Guide at a UFA near you or look at it online: http://www.ufa.com/
Lauren and Chad’s laid-back Lloydminster wedding was perfect. With their family and a couple friends surrounding them, they were married in the historic St John’s Minister Church in the Border City.
The couple, who have been together two years were amazing to get to know and it was an honour to be their wedding photographer.
If I had to use one word to sum up Andre and Clare’s wedding day, it would be FUN. This is a fun couple with a fun family. There were 16 people at the wedding, located at Emerald Lake Lodge - including the bride and groom.
If you haven’t been to Emerald Lake, you need to. It’s nestled in between Lake Louise and Golden – on the British Columbia side. Gorgeous. Clare and Andre met in high school, but it wasn’t until a chance meeting 10 years later at a concert that they connected and became a couple. Fast forward to their wedding day, and their most special people surrounded them and told the most amazing stories about their relationships with them both. Those 14 people that joined Clare and Andre were the most incredible story tellers and when they spoke, it was heartwarming.
I walked away from that day feeling honoured to have spent that time with this now-joined family. Clare summed up how she wanted her wedding to feel like “a cozy dinner party with dressy clothes.” That was exactly how it felt. The laughter, fellowship, wine and conversation flowed easily.
I hope that you enjoy this little taste of Clare and Andre’s wedding day. Enjoy your Mexican honeymoon!
I met Ingrid and Tyler last year when I photographed their wedding in August. Ingrid has since become my trade show model. I have a 7 foot banner of her that goes up in all of my booths. She’s THAT awesome. Now, her and Tyler are having a baby and it’s due roughly a year to the date from when they were married. This is a fun couple with a fun family and fun friends. I cannot wait to hear about their new little person when he or she arrives. We did our session at Fish Creek Park in Calgary this morning.
I could have photographed Amanda and Curtis all evening. Nothing beats shooting a rockstar and his awesome fiancé. I am so looking forward to their wedding this summer!
When I first met with Kate, it was obvious she had a huge love for her fiancé…..and her horses. So naturally, Mystic, Henry and Apollo needed to play a role in wedding photos with her and Todd. After a beautiful ceremony at the Hillhurst United Church in Calgary, we headed Heathercrest Ranch near Springbank for portraits. From there – a gorgeous reception at the Pinebrook Golf Course and Country Club that had a little Kentucky Derby feel.
